Again I want to be besserwisser.
After testing hundreds of batteries in the car and outside and long discussing with chemistrians and physicians I have done following conclusions:
Good watering period is based by driving kilometers; Clio and Berlingo/Partner 3000-3500km. This is because batteries are old and there is "other" things witch caused more water consumption like regen where charging batteries with hundred of amperes. If car is Clio then there is 19 batteries and if there goes even 10L of water then it's over half liter per battery. Now, batteries not equal so some battery can suck much more water. Also the driving current is quite high, 260A, and it heats batteries very effective. Averidge current consumption on driving is about the same in both cars as Berlingo/Partner is heavier.
If the water level goes under plates the volume is really small and results are that only part of the plates are using. That is the main reason why we have seen so many burned batteries and most of them with ends because cooling is not so effective there. Also this caused explosions because overheating developing burning fumes in the watering hoses.
Must also say that I have not noticed any difference with different yearmodel batteries if watering has done correct way.
Both cars, Clio and Berlingo/Partner, watering light based overcharge Ah:s. PSA uses 870Ah, can not remember Clio/Express.
In addition, Berlingo/Partner has function in ECU so that if you have interrupted charging some 7-10 times then it charging batteries some 5 hours with 7A. It is very stressing for the old batteries and they developing heat quite a lot.
At the end must say that these batteries lasts forever with correct handling.
