After some work I have modified the Nissan Android app for the US-market to work with the Swedish Nissan Carwings.
It does not communicate via the web interface. It communicates in the same way as the iPhone app-does and is very quick in comparison.
I will now try it out for a couple of days and do some translations so the texts are according to the regular app.
I will publish the .apk file for installation later to the Swedish Nissan Leaf owners. I don't know Nissans opinion on this since they are the the copyright owner of the original app but this is for a good cause and they will have benefits of the modified Android app since it propably will be possible to use for all european countries while waiting for the official release.
If Nissan ask me to remove the .apk, I will.
If Nissan want's their official app to work in Europe they can contact me and I'll have my company (Starmind) do the the app-development for them. We do web- and app-development for iPhone and Android.
I have attached an image of the app when I'm logged in for my Swedish car. I've translated the ranges from miles to km already as you can see.
