It works very well. It isn't that hard now when I have analyzed the app and know the places to fix.
It has the timeout issue, but I havn't looked for a way to fix that yet.
Didn't know that there was a limit on the username, mine is 15 characters and that works. What is the limit?
Just to be clear. I've done this as myself, my company is not involved. However if Nissan want's a quick solution I will do this through my job.
About the legal issues you probably are right about publishing the apk. So I'm trying to contact the responsible at Nissan to get a picture of their view of it.
It seems strange to wait with only the Android app and release the iPhone app together with the launch. There might be some market decision I don't understand here but my guess that it is a luck of development resources that can adapt the application to Europe.
Until the picture is clear about the status. All Nissan Leaf owners will have to wait (and use the Open Wings app which is very good
)

I think you need to think twice (or check with lawyer) before publishing the apk. Especially quoting your company name. Reverse engineering is usually covered under "fair use" and is relatively safe to tell others how you did what you did. But repackaging someone elses software and making it available without their consent is illegal. No matter how good you think the cause is. |

Some food for thought - do you think nissan managed to make a whole electric car, and is not ready with the android app for it. Is it a coincidence that the android app for the nissan was released 1 year after releasing the car in the US and will be released one year after releasing the car in UK. ![]() |
